The Eversource Engineering Co-Op Program is designed to deliver students with the opportunity to apply both classroom and prior experience learning to real life application. The program is 6-months in duration and provides everyone an opportunity to gain experience working in assigned engineering areas.
The Telecommunications Engineering group leads the Company efforts in strategically determining networks solutions for essential voice and data services required to operate and manage the Electric and Gas Transmission and Distribution Systems including Information Technology Systems. Work in close collaboration with Field Communications Engineering, Transmission Line Engineering, Substation Engineering to advance our fiber expansion and support services.
As a co-op student, you will assist department engineers and lead engineers with routine and special projects involving the Telecommunications Engineering group. These projects will include completing activities and assignments associated with improving the safe and reliable design and operation of the electrical transmission and distribution system. You will learn basic utility engineering concepts applicable to the group you are placed in and will also learn the principles of good customer service and electric reliability.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
You will need to be pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering. Ideally, you will have technical and analytical background and experience. Software experience includes Microsoft Office Suite.

Emergency Response:
Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
