Environmental Protection Specialist - R8

This position is in Region 8, Immediate Office Division.

Recent Graduates who have completed a qualifying degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution or technical education program within the preceding two years of application submittal (the two years begins on the date all course requirements are met). Veterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree due to military service obligation may apply up to six years after degree or certification.

Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:

  • Serve on teams and workgroups and assist in development, implementation and monitoring of plans, including assigned projects, to accomplish program goals in environmental justice communities for assigned media program work including air, water, waste, land, and/or multimedia projects.
  • Serve as a liaison externally to assist in the development and delivery of training and technical assistance to support assigned community projects in environmental justice communities in Region 8 and internally to provide conventional and routine research, analysis and support media programs.
  • Review and manage conventional assigned grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements activities related to the initiation, administration, and/or close-out and assist with more complex or difficult grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements (IGAs), including responsibility for monitoring performance.
