Developmental Cost Analyst (PAQ)

The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command at Los Angeles Space Force Base is searching for a Developmental Cost (Operational Research) Analyst (GS-1515-07 to 12).

Description:
The Developmental Cost (Operational Research) Analyst will support the Space Force's most technically advanced systems. These positions have the responsibility to conduct research projects, lead data collections and data normalization, perform regression, statistical, and trend analysis, utilize mathematical techniques, monitor and report contract performance, forecast schedule requirements and provide data driven decision support.

The ideal candidate must meet Core Certification Standards for training and/or education and experience required for certification at Level 2 for this career field within 24 months of assignment to position. This position has Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Educational Requirements for Business and Cost Estimating. Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering, Statistics, or other Math intensive field of study is desired. Three semester credit hours from a calculus course and 21 semester credit hours in any combination of the following fields of study: operations research, economics, mathematics, chemistry, physics or other sciences where the utilization of advanced mathematical skills in geometry, trigonometry, statistics, probability, and/or quantitative analysis is required. NOTE: Official transcripts will be requested.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of fundamental cost and economic analysis concepts.
2. Knowledge of acquisition requirements, and the development and approval processes used in large organizations.
3. Practical knowledge and understanding of models and estimating relationships.
4. Ability to develop and utilize data collection techniques and to analyze data.
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
6. Ability to interact effectively with others.

Requirements:
1. Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement.
2. May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties.
3. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

5. This position may be designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
6. A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, engineering or a closely-related scientific discipline is highly desired.
7. This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
7. This position is eligible for telework.
8. PCS may or may not be paid and Incentives may or may not be paid.
