$2,823 - $4,073

The role: 
Put your clerical and decision making skills to work by joining our team that assists the Budget & Legal Support Section and Driver Programs Section at DMV. In this dynamic position, you will serve as the point of contact between these two sections and other DMV service groups, state agencies, private businesses and the general public. You will also be the primary clerical assistant which includes helping with invoice intake and processing. Join our team, apply now!

A day in the life:

  • Organize and maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems for all section records.
  • Maintain office equipment and order office supplies.
  • Track maintenance and repairs for the section’s assigned vehicles.
  • Assist managers with the recruitment process which includes scheduling interviews, coordinating the scoring of applications and assisting in onboarding new employees.
  • Coordinate updates to position descriptions.
  • Maintain current emergency contact information and remote work agreements for staff.
  • Analyze, authorize and prepare invoice payments.
  • Coordinate newsletter, forms, publications and resource materials.
  • Maintain calendars for staff, schedule meetings and appointments, make travel and meeting arrangements and assist with travel expense claims.
  • Take meeting minutes and distribute them to attendees.
  • Work is performed in an office environment and may require infrequent in state travel.

What we need:

  • Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents;

OR

  • An associate's degree; 

OR

  • Graduation from a private school of business with a certificate AND one year of general clerical experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to track multiple work items with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written communications skills.
  • Experience processing applications with multiple qualification requirements.
  • Ability to use office equipment and programs including fax machines and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with a team of diverse professionals with various backgrounds and responsibilities.
