POSITION SUMMARIES
Custodian: Provides cleaning, bed linen change out, floor care, moving, grounds and project services as directed by supervisor. The individual may be assigned to any one of several positions to include: patient area cleaner, non-patient area cleaner, trash technician, special care unit cleaner, and/or others. 
Requirements: n/a
Enrollment Specialist: Determines medical assistance eligibility for patients/clients in hospital outpatient/ inpatient, and emergency settings, as well as face-to-face and in a call center environment. Enrollment Specialists assist patients/clients with submitting/processing documentation to complete applications and forms for various medical assistance programs.
Requirements: 2 years experience with medical and/or public assistance programs or customer service.

Food Service Worker: Various positions available that are responsible for preparation, assembly and delivery of patient meal trays. Maintaining the cleanliness of the food services department. Set-up, service and clean-up of meals served at the main campus cafeteria.

Medical Assistant: Assists provider including all back office duties. Provides nursing support with various functions such as; invasive procedures, medication administration, performing appointment and registration scheduling functions. 
Requirements: Completion of a medical assistant certificate or nursing education program that satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for Licensed Practical Nurse.  Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification (prior to first day of work).

Patient Access Specialist: Responsible for the collection of comprehensive demographic and insurance information required for facilitating timely and accurate billing patients in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment including the Emergency Department, Specialty Clinics and ACS Clinics.
Requirements: n/a

Patient Safety Attendant: Provides 1:1 or group supervision of at-risk patients in a single room based on the clinical judgment and assessment findings of a Physician, Psychologist, or Advanced Practice Nurse within assigned unit.  The patient safety attendant (PSA) assists in maintaining a safe environment and remains with the patient at all times to provide on-going observation. 
Requirements: BLS for Healthcare Providers (prior to first day of work)


Patient Transportation Technician: Performs inpatient and non-patient transportation efficiently and safely throughout the Denver Health Medical Center campus.

Pharmacy Technician: Performs technical tasks within the pharmacy department. Based on area of assignment, responsibilities may include medication preparation, compounding, dispensing, inventory control, unit dose prepackaging, and basic computer system operations.         Requirements: High school diploma or GED.  Completion of a pharmacy technician training program.  Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) through PTCB or ExCPT. Current certification with Colorado State Board of Pharmacy (SBOP).
