Full-Time Applied Math Associate
Matrix Sensors, Inc. is seeking an independent, motivated individual to bring on to our engineering team . This intern would report directly to the VP Engineering at our San Diego, CA facility. We offer full benefits and a competitive salary.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- Assist in the development of mathematical models for sensors
- Perform sensor testing and analyze results
- Write scripts in Python for data analysis and model fitting
- Routine workup of sensor test data
- Developing automated data processing scripts
- Documenting and testing new software applications
- Collaborating with engineers and scientists on other projects as-needed
Desired skills include:
- Python (required), C++ (optional), LabView (optional)
- Proficiency in one major computer algebra system (e.g. Mathematica, Maple)
- Experience with functional programming is a plus
- Optimizing algorithms for speed and/or memory usage
- Software test and debugging skills
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Great attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solving
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or an engineering field with physics courses
- Master's degree is preferred but not required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to work in-person in San Diego, CA
