The Main Responsibilities

The intern will be part of the Data Enablement Team within our Strategic Planning and Transformation organization. The intern will work directly with our Data Science team, operating in our cloud environment. This individual will work with teams to design and build cloud based automated pipeline that run, monitor and retrain AI/ML models using agile methodologies.
 

What We Look For in a Candidate

•   Education Requirements 
o   Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior with a bachelor’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – June 2024.
o   Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or similar technical degree field.
•   Proficiency and understanding of; 
o   Enhance and improve the code deployment and model monitoring frameworks and project operations documentation 
o   Support life cycle management of AI models (e.g., new releases, change management, monitoring, retraining, and troubleshooting) 
o   Help define/improve best practices, guidelines & integration with other enterprise solutions 
o   Collaborate with engineers and architects from other disciplines such as data, application, infra, cloud, security, and UI/UX to build and implement AI solutions in production. 
o   Work effectively on a team as well as a self-driven individual to do research and develop
o   Provide expertise in analyzing and visualizing large, complex, and unique data sets.

o   Problem-Solver – you will need to be able to analyze a situation and make recommendations for resolutions, sometimes these answers are not obvious
•   Work Setting
o   Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield -CO – Hybrid. May consider remote/ work from home.
o   Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
o   Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
o   US work authorization may be required at time of internship
