Merchandise Planning & Allocation Intern

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Experience the Merchandise Planning & Allocation function of the leading pet specialty retailer firsthand as you work with teams of assortment analysts, demand planners, buyers and more
  • Manage all components of a rolling merchandise forecast (sales, margin, receipts, inventory and turn)
  • Partner with the Buyer and Assortment Team to influence the assortment and promotional plans
  • Analyze and anticipate selling patterns to influence the allocation and replenishment strategy
  • Provide thought leadership, analysis and insights into trends and recommendations
  • This position is responsible for following the Merchandise Planning Policies & Procedures that supports delivering the merchandise plan objectives including growth in sales and margin and driving cost reductions and inventory productivity gains. This includes identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement in your categories of responsibility to your manager and working with your peers and business partners to enable a strong cross functional team
  • Leave your “paw” print with a project designed to make a true impact on the business
  • Present your recommendations and innovative ideas to PetSmart leaders

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
  • A passion for pets!!!

  • Team player attitude.
  • A drive for results.
  • Graduating Dec 2023 or May 2024.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a retail discipline or related field (e.g. Finance).
  • You understand retail math and have strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. 
  • You are proficient in Excel and familiar with MS Office.
  • Willingness to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona for the summer and potential future FT role
