Intervention Bilingual Paraprofessional #1692

Job Summary:
The paraprofessional assists the intervention teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students in a classroom or small group setting. The paraprofessional may work with individual students or small groups to reinforce and assess skills initially introduced by the intervention teacher. The District is seeking to hire eight paraprofessionals to work with students in first through fifth grade. 

  • Qualifications:Must hold a State of Illinois Educator License with Stipulations for Paraprofessionals - ELS (PARA);
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently;
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, use of email and Google Suite applications;
  • Ability to collaborate with the classroom teacher and assist with instruction and supervision of students;
  • Ability to use independent judgment and demonstrate initiative to act in accordance with established policies and regulations;
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions;
  • Some knowledge of the field of child development and some knowledge of student behavior management techniques;
  • Able to serve as a role model for students by demonstrating a positive attitude and effective work ethic; and
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, administrators, and parents;
 Salary and Benefits: 
  • Starting hourly pay of $15.72-$18.70;
  • Starting hourly pay is commensurate with education and includes a competitive benefits package;
