Market Research Brand Strategy Intern

The Opportunity
NRG is seeking a 2022 Fall Market Research Brand Strategy Intern who will join the Brand Strategy and Innovation team. If you’re passionate about using qualitative and quantitative research to understand what motivates human behavior; if you enjoy collaborating and driving creativity; if you geek-out over cultural trends, brand strategy and innovation for cutting edge insights – this opportunity is for you.

The Role 
  • Support Brand Strategy and Innovation team on custom market research studies, including but not limited to brand strategy, innovation, positioning, cultural trends, and segmentations. Many projects are a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. 
  • Support various steps of a project including but not limited to: database maintenance, survey design, proofing, questionnaire writing, link checking, collecting and analyzing data and data table proofing.
  • Keep abreast of emerging behaviors, technologies, cultural trends and companies that are impacting our clients’ businesses.
  • Stay engrossed in cultural trends, entertainment, emerging tech, and media trends and innovations and use them to inform insights.
  • Career training opportunities where interns will learn about various research-oriented tasks and processes. Interns will also get the opportunity to learn about various lines of the business such as our Client Services teams and our Research Operations teams including but not limited to Data Management, Marketing Sciences and Design.

Who You Are
  • Passion for research and flexibility to work on custom research projects.
  • Excited by analyzing data.
  • Capable self-starter who is motivated to get into this line of business.
  • Strong communicator who has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and strong Excel skills; experience with pivot tables and writing macros a plus.
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail.
  • Able to successfully manage time and juggle competing priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Someone who can work independently with good project management skills.
  • Creative and critical thinker who can think outside of the box.
 
Who You Are
  • 1+ year(s) of relevant coursework and/or experience working in quantitative or qualitative research, entertainment/film studies, consumer insights, consumer research, or in analysis/strategy.
  • Candidates with a focus in a social science field or business, or one with an emphasis on statistics or quantitative research methodologies preferred.
  • Candidates must be actively working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree and must be eligible to work in the US. Graduates may qualify if they have finished school within six months of the start of the internship.

Position Type
This is a temporary non-exempt position. We require interns to work up to a maximum of 16 hours per week with flexibility to work between the hours of 9am-6pm.

Work Environment
NRG provides flexible work options – employees will be given the choice to work remotely, work out of a designated office (Playa Vista or New York) or a hybrid of the two.
