Social Entrepreneurship Program Assistant

Position located near IUPUI Campus! (position is part of the Community Work-study program at IUPUI)

The Social Entrepreneurship Program Assistant is a remote work-study and in-person social distance position with the Kheprw Institute. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the coordinator will support the Kheprw staff in creating, managing, and evaluating all of the social enterprise initiatives. These social enterprises, include but are not limited to the Alkhemy Small Business Support center, KI Nu Media, Community Controlled Food Initiatives, and Democratizing our Data.

Responsibilities and Duties:
●  Meeting with program directors for each enterprise
●  Assisting in creating the goals and objectives for each enterprises
●  Research respective industry trends and standards
●  Support accounting department in analyzing data outcomes

Assisting in creating an evaluation framework for each enterprise to track their
goals/objectives.

Through work in this position, the student will become acquainted with the following profiles:

Communicator - The student will learn how to communicate with program directors of each enterprise to create measurable goals and objectives and an evaluation framework for the enterprises. The student will also be learning how to communicate with clients and business support partners around the work of the relevant enterprise and how best to support them.

Problem Solver – The student will be working with program directors to analyze systems and processes to identify any challenges enterprises are facing and working with them to help develop solutions.

Innovator – We encourage our interns to ask questions and be curious. While we will have existing processes for the student to follow, we welcome new ideas and improvements on how to make the management of enterprises more efficient and effective, while serving community needs and challenges.

Community Contributor – The student will be directly involved with helping develop KI programming around social entrepreneurship that serves mission and community. The student will gain knowledge about other cultures and perspectives through interacting with members of the staff and community. This position will provide student exposure to alternative narratives and ways of being in the world, broadening their awareness of diversity and inclusion, teaching them to respect their culture and that of others.
