Managed Markets Internship -Hybrid

Job Summary:
Assigned to the Managed Markets Group which is responsible for partnering with our large, enterprise business-to-business (B2B) customers (Health Plans, PBMs, Employers, Government, etc). Interacts and participates with various divisions within Walgreens to assist in supporting our Access, Retention, and Growth goals across our service lines. Assists with and completes projects that contribute to the strategic initiatives for both Walgreens, our B2B customers, and their patients. The focus of the internship is geared more toward the candidate who is interested in the business aspects of healthcare.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs various activities that contribute to the strategy development process for the assigned business unit.
  • Utilizes various tools and resources to analyze information and make recommendations to support the business.
  • Provides general day to day support across the various divisions within Walgreens.
  • Suggests recommendations to leadership for improving and updating policies and processes.
  • May deliver a project aligning to strategic priorities and present to manager/leadership upon completion.

Basic Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with 2 semesters remaining upon start date
  • Experience communicating with key stakeholders via writing reports and presenting the information.
  • Experience collaborating with teams
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interest in the “business of healthcare” as it relates to health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, and other organized purchasers of healthcare (i.e. healthcare administration)
  • Interest in learning about products and services for large enterprise B2B clients and how they operationalize in our stores.
  • Interest in external B2B customer-facing initiatives
