Sales Leadership Development Program

Our commercial sales team, guided by the voice of the customer, develops and markets differentiated, value-creating solutions, services and technologies. We help customers enter new markets faster, expand their product offerings, enhance end-use product performance, build their reputation, attain safety and environmental benefits, meet regulatory objectives, differentiate themselves and win against their competition!

We are building our next generation of sales professionals, and are seeking recent graduates to begin an exciting career in our Commercial Leadership Development Program. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who have good interpersonal communication skills and want to utilize their technical skills to develop solutions and drive value for customers. Individuals will be assigned to a commercial sales team in one of Avient’s divisions and locations based on their interests and skills. 

This extensive program will include business unit specific training lasting approximately 6 to 9 months. Our training curriculum delivers a train, practice and apply approach with a full overview of our selling curriculum and our business units. During this period, individuals will be exposed to technical and customer service, plant operations, warehouse/logistics functions, learn our Value Based Selling program, shadow within several sales territories and receive mentoring from a sales colleague. Upon completion of the training program, individuals will be responsible for securing business from prospective and current customers to achieve annual sales and profit objectives.
 
 
Essential Functions
  • Build relationships with existing customers and prospect new customers.
  • Identify unmet existing/unknown customer needs through research, prepared questioning and strategies developed to address them.
  • Develop and implement selling strategies to win new business over the competition and work with customers on new application development.
  • Develop, execute and manage sales growth plans, sales budgets, and expense budgets.
  • Foster relationships and navigate internal business environment.
  • After training period, position requires travel by car or plane up to 50%-75% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Plastics/Composites required.
  • Prior customer service or sales related experience preferred.
 
Additional Qualifications
  • Proficiency with MS Word & Excel preferred.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Team Player.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
