Student Receptionist in the Chancellor's Office

The Student Receptionist in the Chancellor’s Office will serve as a member of a collaborative support staff team. This position involves a wide variety of clerical support for the Chancellor’s Office, as appropriate and necessary to ensure that the services and functions of the front desk are carried out in an efficient and professional manner.

The Student Receptionist provides front-line customer service through answering the office phone and greeting guests; providing support to the Chancellor by managing calendar functions to scheduling appointments and events; and assisting in the coordination of special events.

This position allows for summer hours along with working around class schedules during the academic year.

Essential functions:
  • Provide administrative support to the office, which includes greeting guests, managing phone calls and incoming emails, database entry work, printing labels and handling large mailing orders, filing, assisting with in-office events, and printing various correspondence
  • Scheduling appointments and meetings on the Chancellor’s Outlook calendar under the direction of the Executive Assistant
  • Collaborating with other staff to complete projects as assigned

Required qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate professionally in a written and oral format
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, internet, and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask including answering phone calls, emails, and walk-in requests
  • Possess strong time management skills and organizational skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work with varied personalities
  • Ability to work with multiple, high volume tasks while maintaining a high level of efficiency and accuracy
