Bilingual Wraparound Support Counselor

The Bilingual Support Counselor in Wraparound services works on a multi-disciplinary team and provides behaviorally focused mental health services to children and families. In addition, the Support Counselor mentors, trains, and provides consultation to a team of Wraparound staff on specific behavioral interventions to support clients and families. These services, which are child and family focused and strength based, are provided in the office and community, including, but not limited to, schools, hospitals, and family homes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally sensitive, behavioral support services 1-2 times weekly to youth.
  • Support the treatment team with developing and strengthening a network of lifelong connections for youth and families as part of the Wraparound Model.
  • Participate in treatment reviews, Child and Family Team meetings, or other meetings deemed necessary for youth and family treatment process.
  • Maintain an average caseload of 6-8 youth and families.
  • Complete functional behavioral assessments, and actively contribute to treatment plan development.
  • Complete all required program and agency paperwork in a timely manner utilizing Seneca’s online documentation systems and procedures on a daily basis.
  • Maintain youth charts and records to Seneca, Medi-Cal and County standards.
  • Maintain close communication with all treatment team members to ensure coordinated service delivery.
  • Participate in the program-wide on-call rotation and provide support to clients and families during non-business hours.
  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervision and monthly all-staff meetings or trainings as required to maintain fidelity to Wraparound program model.

Qualifications

  • Experience/education requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree OR
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable work experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable work experience
  • Applicable experience includes any paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families, or working in the social services field
  • Experience in working with system-involved children and their families
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Experience in Social services, psychology, counseling, mental health or another related field
  • Experience providing crisis assessment, management, and interventions, preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently in the office and in the community.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, including solid computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong organizational skills as demonstrated by the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and insurance with the ability to provide frequent transportation and travel in the Bay Area.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster required.

Schedule

  • Full Time; Tuesday through Saturday

  • Starting at $24.00 per hour. Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications.
