
BME Design and Innovation Internship
This opportunity is for students that have successfully completed the (IN)SCRIBE Program offered through the BME Department at IUPUI. The position pays $15/hr for up to five hours per week over two consecutive semesters (fall and spring). Two students will be selected to continue learning and designing with the 3D Innovations Lab at IU Health and the BME Department at IUPUI.
Student Responsibilities:
- 5 hours of work per week
- Complete necessary safety and HIPAA training, as outlined by both 3D Innovations and the BME Department
- Complete a semester progress report via Qualtrics
- Present their work in poster form at a BME event (e.g., BME Open House in February or BME R&D day in April)
- Spend ~25% of their time providing the BME Department 3D printing support and managing prints for BME courses
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be enrolled in the Biomedical Engineering program at IUPUI.
- Applicants must have completed the summer (IN)SCRIBE program.
What Students Will Learn:
- Operation and maintenance of 3D printers and other fabrication tools
- Application of engineering design principles to clinically relevant problems
