This position assists in planning and conducting all nutrition and health-related programs for the Eat Well @ CSU Program throughout the academic year. The position assists in developing programs for students that create awareness and education about healthy dietary choices specifically while living on-campus. This position also assists with entering accurate nutrition-specific information for individual food items and recipes within the CBORD system and NetNutrition online menu system.

Essential Duties:
1.      Maintain professionalism as a representative of the Eat Well @ CSU Office during all tasks.
2.      Create nutrition education materials for several mediums including print and social media, as well as both passive and interactive education materials.
3.      Execute all Eat Well @ CSU nutrition programs within the dining centers, residence halls and apartments.
4.      Assist in the development, coordination, and maintenance of Eat Well @ CSU programming.
5.      Answer student questions regarding nutrition and food to the best ability while always using evidence-based information and never recommending individual nutrition therapy.
6.      Research and identify incentives that are educational, useful and relevant to students.
7.      Keep abreast of current national nutrition and wellness initiatives and activities.
8.      Explore ideas and opportunities to personalize the program to increase student participation.
9.      Assist in the daily management of the CBORD system regarding food items, recipe ingredients, menu labels and nutrient profiles.
10.  Communicate effectively with Dining Services managers, chefs, and administrative staff in order to obtain and maintain the most accurate information.
11.  Enter all applicable data accurately into multiple data sets, while creating and maintaining the upmost organization to ensure accuracy of information.
12.  Perform QA activities to assure all information is translated correctly from one data set to another to the customer-facing medium.
13.  Ability to interpret recipes to identify allergens and basic nutrient profiles.
14.  Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers while promoting a positive work environment.
15.  Ensure compliance with all hourly policies and procedures.
16.  Learn and follow all guidelines contained in the hourly employee handbook.
17.  Understand and follow Colorado State University policies, including the Principles of Community.
18.  Meet weekly scheduling requirements including working a minimum of 10 hours per week and specified shifts as described by supervisor. 
19.  Perform unsupervised job duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
1.      Be a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student at Colorado State University majoring in human nutrition, food science, or health and exercise science.

Conditions of Employment:
1.      Pre-employment criminal background check (if applicable).
2.      Be available Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings 3:00-7:00pm each work week. Other work hours will be negotiable upon hire.

Uniform:
·        CSU Dining Services polo shirt and nametag will be issued by the employer to be worn during specified shifts. Professional attire is to be worn at all times.
·        It is the responsibility of the employee to keep the uniform in a clean, acceptable appearance.

Work-study positions are available; the applicant must be eligible for work-study to qualify. If offered a work-study award, applicant must accept the award through the Financial Aid tab in RAMweb.
