COVID-19 Investigator


Job Summary
The Benton County Health Department is currently seeking Case Investigators to join the COVID-19 response and recovery team. This position works as part of an interdisciplinary team to conduct COVID-19 outbreak investigations. These positions will work remotely under supervision of the Communicable Disease Program Manager to conduct investigations in accordance with the Oregon Health Authority Investigative Guidelines for COVID-19, and utilize state databases for collecting data and case information. A flexible work schedule may be possible once training is completed.

  • Remote employees must reside in Oregon.
  • This recruitment is to fill two positions.
  • This is a limited duration, benefited, full-time position for a maximum of two years. The position may be ended sooner if funding or need discontinues.

  • Annual salary range of:
  • $43,965 - $57,679
  • This position guarantees two salary raises within your first yearIncreases are given at the end of the 6 month probationary period and at the 1 year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.

Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:  
  • Associate’s degree or two year technical certificateAND
  • 2 years of work experience in a related field. 
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.

  • The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  • Benton County is requiring all Health Services employees to complete their COVID-19 vaccination series by October 18, 2021, unless the employee receives a medical or religious exemption/accommodation by October 18, 2021. Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual/Bicultural (English/Spanish)
  • Knowledge of or training in the fields of public health, epidemiology, and data collection
  • Certification as Community Health Worker, Peer Support Specialist, or equivalent traditional health worker certification
