Family Services Worker - Residential Licensing & Special Investigations Unit

Overview

This is a home-based, Central Office, FSW position within the Residential Licensing & Special Investigations unit (RLSI). The RLSI Agency Team is responsible for the regulation and oversight of Vermont's Residential Treatment Programs, Child Placing Agencies, and Commissioner Designated Shelters, as well as conducting child safety interventions within each of these settings.

Candidates should expect to perform a variety of duties as needed within the unit, which include licensing and regulation of foster homes, completing home studies for the Interstate Compact for Placement of Children, conducting regulatory interventions in licensed facilities, while maintaining robust ongoing relationships with Family Services central office staff, district office staff, and other state agencies. Candidates for this position will ideally live in the southern portion of the state, although all highly qualified applicants will be considered.

This position includes the assignment of a state fleet vehicle, and an office allowance stipend. This position involves significant opportunities to learn about larger systems issues, develop close collaborative relationships with private Vermont agencies, and engage in interesting, complex investigative work. RLSI is a strong, experienced, supportive team that enjoys humor, provocative conversations, and thoughtful peer consultation.
