Promotions Coordinator

Summary of Job
The City of Beloit has an exciting professional opportunity with the Downtown Beloit Association of the Department of Economic Development. Beloit is seeking an experienced and skilled candidate to serve as Promotions Coordinator. This position is responsible for the administrative and clerical work of the Downtown Beloit Association (DBA) and for coordinating the development and implementation of promotional activities within the Business Improvement District (BID) of the City of Beloit utilizing the Main Street “Four-Point Approach.” 
The Promotions Coordinator will provide administrative support work relative to the development and implementation of DBA programs and functions. Requires implementation and coordination of a variety of office functions necessitating judgment, discretion, and initiative in the interpretation and application of policies, procedures and processes. Work is characterized by responsibility for a wide variety of administrative tasks. This position will work a full-time, varying schedule, including some nights, weekends, and holidays depending on events.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license, satisfactory driving record or the ability to otherwise meet the transportation needs of the position. 
  3. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in promotions, retail, festival planning and development or a related field.
  4. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
