Lockstep Fall '22 Product Designer Internship
Lockstep is looking for a product design intern who is interested in designing thoughtful software that can dramatically improve the workflow of accounting users. If you are a designer of a curious mind and love all things system designs and end-to-end experiences, this is the role for you.
- Duration: Each internship lasts for twelve weeks.
- Salary: Interns will be compensated $23/hr
- Location: The intern is fully remote and can work from anywhere in the US.
- Date: Exact dates flexible between September 2022 through mid-December 2022.
- Scope: Each intern will manage a single project that can be executed during a three-month internship in collaboration with an experienced Product Manager.
- Graduation: Successful interns receive priority consideration for fulltime positions at Lockstep.
What you'll do
☞ Partner with other designers to create design solutions as part of design and product teams
☞ Pitch concepts and present vision on product design to peers and stakeholders
☞ Create elegant and intuitive user experience flows from wireframe to implementation
☞ Join in system design conversations with partners in product and engineering to more effectively build solutions for internal audiences
☞ Support the engineering team through the launch
☞ Validate design through testing
☞ Help craft and document personas
☞ Assist in helping create a user panel of power users for user testing and validation
☞ Support and help maintain our Design System with other product designers
☞ True passion for curiosity
☞ 0-12 months of experience in digital software product work, with user experience emphases in research, UX architecture, interaction design, and/or visual design
☞ A collaborative, low-ego approach to working with others
☞ Willing to learn the basics of accounting and its user personas
☞ Bachelor’s degree with a focus on User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
