Grant Writer - Remote


Walt’s Waltz is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Grant Writer to help take our organization to the next level. We are seeking an energetic, deadline-oriented individual to support the grant writing efforts of the agency. This role requires a strong desire to build community relationships while forwarding Walt’s Waltz mission to end the stigma that surrounds those with mental health struggles.
 
This position is 100% remote, Full-time and Part-time options, Internship for professional development, practical experience through project-based learning, and possible academic credit: check with your college or university about credit requirements.
 
Walt’s Waltz is an Upstate South Carolina based non-profit organization with regional, national, and international reach. Walt’s Waltz ends the stigma that surrounds those with mental health struggles through professionally led educational programs, integration of the performing and visual arts, and creation of Walt’s Waltz Stigma-Free Zones, but we don’t stop there. With a goal to further reduce suffering and suicides, Walt’s Waltz advocates for equitable funding including cutting-edge research in biomarkers for more targeted advancements toward novel curative therapies as we see with physical conditions. 

Qualifications
  • Committed to Walt’s Waltz’s mission and vision
  • Experience working for a nonprofit organization or in public relations, marketing, sales, communication or project management, working with community foundations
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail and data management
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for creating a calendar of available grants and deadlines in advance
  • Responsible for coordinating the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals
  • Assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with grant contacts
  • Gather documentation and fulfill the necessary requirements of various funding bodies
  • Work with team to develop and implement an annual development plan/strategy to secure grant income

This position will present additional opportunities including face to face and/or Zoom meetings with potential clients and donors, assist in the design and/or attendance at our community events, and development of innovative campaigns. 

Note: As a remote worker for student course credit, field hours, or practicum hours students will meet with their supervisor weekly. Additionally, there will be mandatory daily meetings with other team members to discuss goals and initiatives. Interns will keep a daily log of their work. Evaluations will be conducted throughout placement.
