Minimum Qualifications
Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Minimum Sophomore level college student
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students)
• Or currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.
Duties Description
The Student Assistant will:
•• Serve as the point-person for incoming communications for the ITS Administration Office and accurately identify and direct inquiries to appropriate staff
• Manage the internal SharePoint sites and any new internal sites for recordkeeping purposes
• Manage and monitor multiple shared mailboxes. Utilize folders, mail rules, and categories to keep shared mailboxes organized.
• Prepare and distribute various reports related to streamlining of administrative functions and internal processes
• Process requests for Stand-By On-Call, Compressed Work Schedule (CWS) and Voluntary Reduction in Work Schedule (VRWS) applications Review for accuracy and proper approval from division heads; submit to ITS Office of Administration for approval and to OGS Human Resources for processing.
• Liaise with multiple agencies to initiate various events, i.e., Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Observance (OGS), Green NY (DEC) and State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA)
• Provide additional support for special tasks/projects as requested
