InTouch Programs & Healing Center Internship

Integrative Touch is a Community Health Non-Profit and a leader in integrative medicine that is committed to ending isolation in illness and transforming trauma through togetherness. We are seeking dedicated and committed interns  to further the mission and vision of our organization. Our mission is to provide connection, wellness and healing opportunities that change the lives of anyone touched by pain, suffering, or medical challenges. 


Interns in this role will work at every level of our organization. Each intern will serve a role in the Integrative Touch Healing Center in Tucson, AZ with possibility of committee membership.  Interested applicants can send a resume and letter of interest to internships@integrativetouch.org.  


The role requires a minimum of 8 to 12 hours per week for 1 school year (ex: May ‘23-May ‘24) or 25 hours per week during the Summer (mid May-mid August). School credit is available in accordance with the rules of your department/academic institution. Our interns will work directly with our staff, volunteers, and program recipients.


While serving as an Healing Center Intern,  interns should be comfortable with the following tasks:

*Assisting in programs with children & adults of all abilities 

*Creating a warm and welcoming environment where children and families are greeted by name, and the cultures of the community are represented through wellness activities, art, literature, movement, sounds, animals, etc.
*Maintaining a safe environment for children 
*Creating a fun environment that encourages exploration, active learning, and play
*Developing positive social behaviors in children that nurture peer-to-peer relationship building. 
*Supporting the preparation and service of a meal/snack program 
*Maintaining a clean, organized, & sanitary indoor/outdoor environment by performing daily cleaning duties
*Communicating frequently with Volunteer Coordinator to ensure you are satisfied and well-placed. 
*Ensuring the purpose of the organization and its actions are clearly communicated.
*Performing some administrative duties such as inventory stock, collecting, & organizing data, cleaning, & craft prep
*Holding potential InTouch committee membership, requiring:

*Teamwork and group participation

*Professional interpersonal communication & meeting etiquette

*Critical thinking and problem solving

*Independent project organization and effective time management
