Job Summary: The Workforce Development Coordinator is a critical role within Community Action Marin’s (CAM) Economic Justice Department, responsible for providing overall oversight of workforce development related programming. The Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating across the agency to identify, recruit and orient potential workforce development participants. The Coordinator will lead in communicating with service providers/training facilitators and participants, hosting and facilitating educational sessions and setting up tutoring sessions and coaching services. At the agency level, the Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Economic Justice and Data Analysts to ensure high quality data and monitoring activities helping to inform program impact, adaptations and innovations. Further, the Coordinator will work closely with a variety of government and private sector partners and donors to ensure participants are provided the tools and supportive services to successfully achieve their employment goals.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Coordination
· Develop and maintain detailed workplans and supporting program management documents – activity workplan, cash flow projections, procurement plans and training schedules, etc.
· Work closely with the Director of Economic Justice and Data Specialist to develop and integrate monitoring and evaluation activities into program components including intake forms, pre/post tests and learning questions
· Develop outreach materials for recruitment and orientation ensuring alignment with CAM’s branding, leading in translation of materials into Spanish
· Hold weekly and monthly meetings with key team members including the Director of Economic Justice to ensure the program is on time and on scope
Cross-Agency Coordination
· Coordinate closely with CAM Directors and Managers to recruit existing CAM participants and new participants into workforce development programming, including attending monthly and quarterly meetings as required
Community Facing Representation & Partner Engagement
· Participate in key community-level stakeholder meetings – ISOJI, Marin Advocates Network, County of Marin Public Assistance, County Child Care Commission, etc.
· Support collaboration with community agencies around issues such as: immigration, parents rights or another program needs as assigned by Director
· Support Director of Economic Justice in grant development to help secure additional funding to scale impact-oriented program components
Participant Recruitment, Orientation & Access to Cross-Agency Support Services
· Work with the Director of Economic Justice to develop an outreach plan for participant recruitment
· Lead in the development of eligibility criteria for program participation, in addition to leading in the screening and selection of final participants
· Create and maintain standard filing system for each participant including participant-level demographics, evaluations, transcripts, certifications, service uptake, etc.
· Host orientation events with both participants and key partners
· Connect and coordinate with internal and external resources (CareerPoint North Bay, MCOE, North Marin Community Services, North Bay Children’s Center, with ongoing coordination with College of Marin).
Participant Workforce Development Trainings & Workshops
· Develop annual training schedule including monthly workshop and training events
· Manage a series of trainings and workshops identifying and engaging with various training facilitators and organizing required venues, learning materials, evaluations, etc.
· Develop training pre/post-tests aligned with CAM’s internal learning agenda
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in education, business administration, non-profit management or related field or equivalent work experience
· Bilingual (English / Spanish) required
· 2+ years experience implementing a social services or workforce development program
· Knowledge of best practices and standards in workforce development, i.e. familiarity with Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act eligibility and services (desirable)
· Experience with supervising or mentoring adults
· Advanced computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and case management systems
· Commitment to the program model of supporting cultural sensitivity, diversity, and equity.
· Deep understanding – and ability to articulate – the role equity, inclusion, and diversity plays in our work.
Physical Requirements
