DIGITAL MEDIA, GRAPHICS, AND PHOTOGRAPHY TEACHER - SHEYENNE HIGH SCHOOL
West Fargo Public Schools is accepting applications for a full-time graphic arts and photography teacher to provide students with skills and practical hands-on experiences in digital photography, graphic publications, and photo/digital media. 
POSITION: Digital Media, Graphics, and Photography Teacher - Sheyenne High School
TERM:  188-day contract beginning with the 2022-2023 School Year
SUMMARY:  Provide instruction and practical hands-on experiences to students in digital photography, graphic publications, and fundamentals of broadcast journalism to promote marketable job skills and training in a related career field including includes classroom and lab instruction related to typography, information design, branding-identity systems, illustration, social media tools, interviewing and writing, video editing, and broadcasting. Projects may include logos, brochures, posters, magazine layouts, packaging, digital video creation, photography, animation, and/or emerging skills related to the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
Applicants should have related degrees in the one of the following areas:
  • Traditional: A bachelor's degree with a major or major equivalent (as accepted by ESPB) from an approved institution with appropriate certification in approved field
  • OR
  • Any candidate with work experience in the areas of digital media, graphic design, or photography. Provisional certification to teach in a CTE funded program may be granted when the instructor is enrolled in a CTE approved alternative teacher preparation program. Such provisional certification may be renewed annually provided the instructor is continuing to work toward full licensure. Provisional licensing options are available in Occupational, Praxis Testing Option (may be available depending on route), or Alternate Licensing.
  • An instructor shall earn a minimum of six (6) credits for renewal of the regular (5 year) CTE credential.
  • Valid Teaching Certificate in Career and Technical Education

  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues and the school community
  • Ability to work well with others, resolve controversy and conflict through respectful negotiation, and accept constructive feedback
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate connection and sharing of thoughts and ideas in multiple formats with diverse audiences
  • Ability to reason, interpret, and analyze information to generate new knowledge and understanding
  • Adept at problem-solving, resilient when faced with challenges, and skilled in planning and organization 
  • Experience in project management in both digital and print for publications
  • A working knowledge or interest in media and broadcasting preferred
  • Experience working in a high school setting preferred
  • Prior teaching experience preferred

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education, the starting salary for this position is $38,493-$61,775 for 188-day contract, following the 2022-2023 Teachers' Salary Schedule
The WFPS District funds the entire 11.75% employee contribution to TFFR, as well as the 12.75% employer contribution.
