CFD Principal Scientist - Computational Fluid Dynamics

Qualification:
The selected candidate must have at least 5 years research and development experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics for complex multi-physics and compressible multi-phase fluid dynamic problems.

Primary Requirements:
• Experience in code development and in-depth research involving coupled Eulerian and Lagrangian particles.
• Experience in code development and in-depth research involving turbulent combustion, solid-propellant rocket motor, and plume signature simulations.
• Experience in CFD code development based on Immersed Boundary method.
• Recent publications in above related topics.
• List of Phase I and Phase II awards as PI is strongly encouraged.
• Having Green Card or US Citizenship.

Auxiliary Requirements:
• Proficient in programming language Python, C/C++, and Fortran.
• Experience in structured and unstructured grid generation for aerospace configurations using tools such a Pointwise or GridPro.
• Experience with flow visualization software such as Fieldview, Tecplot, or Paraview.
• Experience in the management of large number of simulations on remote HPC resources.
• Familiarity with industrial CFD tools such as OVERFLOW, FLUENT, CFD++, etc.
• Familiarity with NASA’s Chimera Grid Tools package is a plus.

Education Requirements:
• PhD or Masters degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering or related fields.
