Fund Accountant - Entry Level

Great opportunity for recent college graduates to work with experienced accounting professionals in the hedge fund space!

NYC-based multi-billion dollar hedge fund is seeking a hard-working and self-motivated professional for an entry level Fund Accounting position. The candidate will work with an experienced team located in Midtown Manhattan. No prior experience required and will receive in-person training from the Controller, CFO, and COO.

• Booking accounting journal entries

• Perform daily cash reconciliations

• Daily interaction with prime brokers to resolve account differences

• Collaborate with team to implement monthly budgets and expense payment

• Calculation of monthly fees

• Assist year-end audit process

• Assist with compliance related matters

• Work closely with the accounting team on ad hoc reporting projects

• Must possess a 4 year college degree, Accounting, Finance or Economics major preferred

• 0 - 1 years of relevant experience

• Ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented and can work independently

• Must be able to handle multiple accounts and high volume trading activity

• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Strong proficiency with Excel

• Basic knowledge of accounting concepts required
