Laboratory Technician

The City of St. Cloud is accepting applications for a full-time Utilities Laboratory Technician. This position involves technical and skilled work in bacteriological, chemical and physical examinations of matrices encountered in the Public Utilities Department. This position offers team and individual work in a high paced, public health setting, serving the residents of central Minnesota. Schedules are flexible and determined to meet the needs of the facility and team members. 
 
Examples of Work: Performs a variety of routine examinations on water, wastewater, stormwater, and biosolids samples to include chemical, biological and physical tests to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and in-house process control efficiencies; prepares chemical reagents and bacteriological media; generates data and reports for in-house and regulatory reporting; interpretation and implementation of data to support treatment facilities; operates and maintains a variety of laboratory equipment; coordinates laboratory analysis with facility operations through meetings with operational personnel; may perform duties of a Treatment Plant Operator; performs related work as assigned. Any one position of this class may include all duties listed, nor do listed examples include all duties that may be found in positions of this class.
