Econόmico Animal Hospital (EAH) is a well-established, progressive, and fast paced small animal practice located in Gardena, CA. We believe that in order to provide high quality medicine to our patients, we must stay up to date on recent developments and advancements in the field; ensure the professional growth of our veterinary team, and educate pet parents on how to maintain happy and healthy pets.
We have 2 full-time veterinarians on staff. Dr. Yoon who is Korean American owner and founder of EAH. He completed the veterinary school in South Korea. He participated in the ECFVG program and was able to move back to Los Angeles, California. After training and gaining experience working in the field, he established EAH in 2019. Dr. Hwang was born in South Korea, where he graduated from veterinary school. He completed the ECFVG program and with help from Dr. Yoon and EAH he was able to come to the United States in late 2019.
Econόmico Animal Hospital is a busy facility capable of handling a high-volume of patients. On average we see 50+ cases daily. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients. An average day our cases may include, Preventative Care, Surgeries, Urgent/Emergency Care.
We’ve performed several Soft Tissue surgeries such as, Abscess, Anal Sacculectomy, Cholecystectomy, C-Section, Cystotomy, Diaphragmatic Hernia Repair, Exploratory Laparotomy, Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus, Nephrectomy, Perineal Urethrostomy, Pyometra, Splenectomy, Soft Palate Resection, Urethrostomy and several more internal medicine cases. We also have Orthopedic Surgeries such as, Arthrodesis, Cranial Tibial Wedge Osteotomy, Femoral Head and Neck Osteotomy, Fracture Repairs, Joint Reductions, Manual Reductions, Patella Luxation Repairs, Tibial-Plateau-Leveling Osteotomy.
Because we have established a referral relationship with several 24-hour emergency/specialty hospitals in the area we are consisting progressing our skills and knowledge.
We have several In-House Laboratory equipment, Bloodwork Machine, X-ray Machine, Dental X-ray, C-ARM, Ultrasonography, Laser Machine, Endoscope, Urinalysis Machine, Bio-Note Vcheck, Fecal Machine, and much more; we are consistently adding new equipment to our facility.
An externship experience at an EAH hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. We will teach you how to handle complications that can arise, and the importance of closing cases, and how to provide the best care. We want to provide an environment that is supportive, committed to excellent medicine, and provides exceptional service to animals and the people who love them.
Students will work closely with the supervising DVMs to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
