Leadership Development Programs interns have the unique opportunity to develop leadership and management skills by helping our team deliver a variety of programs for federal employees. Our programs and trainings aim to develop strong leaders, engage employees, encourage innovation and build our participants’ federal networks. An example of the programming this team is involved in would include our Excellence in Government Fellows Program or our Mission Support Leadership Program, both geared toward federal employees across government.
During their internship, interns will learn more about project management, relationship management, event planning and logistics, customer service, and leadership development theory. At the end of their term, interns will walk away with a greater understanding of how the federal government and its agencies work and how federal employees can lead at every level.
This position typically reports to an associate or associate manager.
This job operates in a professional office environment in Washington, DC and occasionally at local external venues. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer and scanner. Please note that as a result of COVID-19, hybrid work will be based in Washington, DC (a combination of remote work and some in-person office work or events), depending on specific team needs. Needs will be discussed during the interview stage of the hiring process.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Business hours are Monday-Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, though exact work hours may vary depending on availability and need. Academic schedules will be accommodated; a part-time schedule may be considered. There may be occasional early morning or evening activities required.
If travel occurs, it is local and during the business day.
Must be based in the United States for the duration of the internship.
