Based in Midtown Manhattan, Oxford University Development (North America), Inc. (OUDNA) has an opening for a Marketing & Communications Coordinator who will report to the Director of Events & Alumni Relations. This position offers the opportunity to build up a strong North American-focused social media and web presence, be part of a team hosting high-profile events, and gain experience working on annual appeal fundraising, for a world-renowned university.

The Marketing & Communication Coordinator’s role will include: sending emails utilizing a database system, designing promotional materials and event invites, creating a monthly e-newsletter, managing day-to-day social media postings across various platforms, and maintaining the North American Office’s website. The incumbent will work as a member of the Events & Alumni Relations team, but will be expected to collaborate with the entire office staff as necessary.
 
Candidates must be professional, articulate, well-organized, creative, have excellent writing skills and be able to work independently, while managing several projects simultaneously. Attention to detail and an ability to work well under pressure are essential.

Candidates must have a BA/BS and preferably some experience working in a supporting role in a professional office. The annual salary is $50,000, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will report to the Director of Events & Alumni Relations. Responsibilities include the following:


Marketing

·    Work to implement an annual appeals program supporting North American Office fundraising priorities by creating emails tailored to a North American alumni audience. Encourage more consistent and regular annual giving among North American alumni through these mailings.

Communications

·    Create and send email communications using the University’s database system.
·    Design and send event invites and promotional materials for North American Office events to Oxford Alumni living in North America.
·    Collaborate with North American Oxford volunteer alumni groups to design and send communications about local alumni events.
·    Produce a monthly e-newsletter highlighting North American Office events, along with Oxford University virtual events, news, and research.

Social Media

·    Manage all North American Office social media channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Track and report metrics for social media channels.

Website

·    Maintain the North American Office’s website by regularly updating it with current Oxford events, news, and research highlights.
·    Update Oxford North American web calendar, event history page and the University’s database with planned alumni events.
·    Track and report website activity and user behavior using Google Analytics.

Events

·    Assist the Events & Alumni Relations director with planning and managing both in-person and virtual events.
·    Help run webinars by creating slides, helping to manage the events, editing webinar recordings, and uploading recordings to North American Office YouTube channel.

Miscellaneous

·    Act as primary coordinator of holiday greeting cards, to be assisted by office Fundraisers.
·    Assist with the creation and design of PowerPoint slides for various NA Office presentations.
·    Develop stories by speaking with alumni and UK-based colleagues to feature projects by alumni and University academics.
·    Work with Oxford North American alumni to develop feature stories about new publications to post on our website and social media accounts.
 

Desired qualifications:

·    A self-starter who can work independently, as well as be a contributing member of a team
·    Must be detail-oriented
·    Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in a professional office
·    Fluent in Microsoft Office and all social media platforms
·    Strong writing and grammatical skills
·    Graphic design and web-building skills a plus
·    Knowledge of Adobe suite a plus, especially Acrobat, PhotoShop, and PremierePro
·    Experience maintaining a professional website a plus
·    Knowledge of CRM databases a plus
·    Awareness of best practices for mass targeted emailing a plus
