ABOUT SUBMEPP

• You know how your car needs maintenance to keep it running safe and reliable over it's full life? And, if you don't perform certain maintenance, the car can break down and even stop working well before it should?

• The US Navy submarines need that same type of maintenance over their life to keep them running safe and reliable too. Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning and Procurement (SUBMEPP) engineers are continuously looking at this maintenance to provide optimal safety and lowest cost to our government. SUBMEPP engineers work very hard keeping maintenance to a minimum while being absolutely sure the submarines are safe.

DUTIES

• You will apply analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved information systems to meet business requirements.
• You will assist management in the justification and planning of assigned computer infrastructures by analyzing requirements and proposing alternatives.
• You will evaluate and recommend computer systems hardware, environmental software including operating systems, utility software, and communications hardware and software.
• You will manage the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and tuning of selected computer systems hardware, environmental software, and communications facilities.
• You will implement and support assigned computer systems security by providing technical management pf the development, implementation, and auditing of system access.
