The ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (ND DOCR), Parole and Probation Division, has an exciting opportunity as a Parole and Probation Officer II in Dickinson, North Dakota. ThIs position provides direct supervision of individuals placed on parole or probation. The salary range for these positions is $ 4,696-8,452 per month. If unable to find qualified applicants, we may consider under filling as a Parole and Probation Officer I with a salary range of $3,932-$7,078 per month. The candidates who are hired must reside within 45 miles of the Dickinson Parole and Probation office.

This position provides direct supervision to individuals placed on parole or probation. This includes completing intakes on clients, developing case plans, and overall management of the clients case. This position is also required to complete pre-sentence investigations for the courts, parole investigations for the Parole Board, and other miscellaneous investigations. Work includes exposure to hazardous conditions potentially resulting in a serious physical injury requiring medical attention, and some lost time from work. Exposure occurs on a periodic or intermittent basis. This position has great deal of interaction with the courts, law enforcement agencies, Parole Board, Pardon Advisory Board, human service centers, Transitional Planning Services and social services agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree with a major in a behavioral science, education, business or closely related field and eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota, and three years of work experience directly interacting with individuals in a correctional, law enforcement, social work, business, education or behavioral health setting. Incumbent must be licensable as a ND Peace Officer under North Dakota Century Code Chapter 12-63, which includes passing the critical task assessment. Incumbent shall attend the first available basic peace officer training recognized by the ND Peace Officers and Training Board (POST Board) ensuring authorization to perform the peace officer duties of a Parole and Probation Officer in accordance with North Dakota Century Code Section 12-59-20. Must have a valid class D driver's license. Must pass a thorough background investigation and criminal record check. Minimum qualifications for the Parole and Probation Officer I require a bachelor's degree, with preference given to degrees in behavioral science, business, education or closely related field. Must be eligible to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota. Must have a valid class D license and pass a thorough background investigation.

This employment offer is based on the condition that you successfully pass a pre-employment (prior to start date) physical examination, drug testing, psychologic examination and the Critical Task Assessment (CTA) fitness test in a time not exceeding 7 minutes and 15 seconds.
