Division Office Manager

This position performs professional, confidential and administrative work providing a variety of office management services and administrative assistance to the Division Administrator and the Division Management Team in a wide variety of management areas. The position is part of and confers with the Division Management Team on confidential office issues, options, and alternatives prior to the preparation and dissemination of Division decisions; this may include access to confidential and sensitive information regarding employment relations topics (performance evaluation documents including employee performance plans, etc.). Work involves complex records processing and office management. The employee provides support and information to managers for their use in planning and making program-area related decisions, some of which are guided by laws, rules and departmental policy. The position performs office management and backup budget support throughout the fiscal year – this includes a current staff make-up of 100+ full time employment positions, up to 60 limited term employment positions and an annual division budget of approximately $37.5 million. This position has a strong emphasis in collaborating with the Human Resources team. This position will provide assistance to employees, managers and applicants regarding recruitment activities and human resource related matters. The incumbent will also work to set up interview schedules and logistics and assist in onboarding new employees. The employee also manages personnel transaction and support activities for the Division (hiring, staff FMLA information needs, Worker’s Compensation, Health & Safety Officer liaison regarding accidents/injuries, etc.).

Based on operational needs, telecommuting may be allowed up to 60% in each 2-week pay period. All DATCP employees who telecommute are required to live within the State of Wisconsin.
