Customer Account Manager (Southfield)

The Account Manager position is customer facing, an essential part of day-to-day operations, and ensures the business Edge commits to is growing and executed at the highest levels.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage a customer portfolio and lead day-to-day operations
  • In conjunction with sales rep, directly responsible for growth of partnership with ownership in relationship building, service metrics, spot quoting, growth & strategy
  • Assist in operations ensuring all loads are built, scheduled, and executed from tender through payment with high attention to detail
  • Help outline and coach operations rep responsibilities to ensure external success
  • Leverage freight market knowledge and resources to bid and respond to daily adhoc spot freight
  • Build strong relationships with all customer and facility contacts driving ease of working with Edge & partnership growth
  • Manage email traffic to ensure prompt response and constant re-prioritization of day-to-day needs
  • Collaborate with carrier sales department to ensure freight is booked and serviced while maintaining core profitability targets
  • Take ownership of driving operational improvements for overall team execution

Qualifications
  • Bachelors’ Degree: Business, Sales/Marketing, Communication preferred
  • 1-2 years in 3PL brokerage operations or account management
  • Problem solving, effective communication, collaboration, continuous improvement
  • Strong ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Positive attitude and desire to grow as an individual each and every day
  • Skilled with Microsoft suite
