Speech- Language Pathologist- Yellowstone-West/Carbon County Special Services Cooperative

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist
Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Eligible for CCC and Licensure in the state of Montana
  • Successful experience teaching and working with children/students.
Reports to:  Director, Yellowstone-West/Carbon County Special Services Cooperative

Job Goal: The Speech-Language Pathologist provides identification, assessment, therapeutic and consultative services for children with speech-language disabilities within the Yellowstone-West/Carbon County Special Services Cooperative member schools. 

Essential Job Duties:
  • Implements the delivery of service to individuals with speech-language disabilities within designated populations.
  • Accurately identifies those individuals who exhibit communication disorders within specified populations through standardized procedures, according to state and federally mandated criteria.
  • Determines, through assessment and diagnostic procedures, the nature, etiology, and severity of the specific disabilities of those individuals with communication disorders.
  • Plans appropriate treatment/intervention for individuals diagnosed as having communication disorders and will arrange for the implementation of the program within specified service delivery populations.
  • Coordinates therapy with the classroom and home.
  • Maintains all records of individuals being served according to Cooperative, state and federal standards.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
  • Maintains and updates an inventory of all materials being used.
  • Attends all Evaluation Report Team meetings and Individual Education Program meetings for students referred to or receiving speech-language services.
  • Communicates on an ongoing basis information about the progress of students on his/her caseload with general and special education teachers and parents.
  • Screens hearing and refers students as needed to affiliated audiologist(s) for follow up evaluation.
  • Attends and participates in relevant in-service training sessions.

Salary: DOE under the Cooperative’s Specialist Matrix, up to 10 years of experience recognized on the salary schedule
