Graduate Bridge Inspector

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Graduate Bridge Inspector for our Exton, PA, York, PA or Lawrenceville, NJ offices. Be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and utilize your Structural Engineering skills as part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
Takes part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of building and infrastructure projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include basic assistance with the research, design, concept development, and construction of load-bearing structures or structural elements, such as buildings, bridges, roadways, and mechanical structures. Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality.

Your Impact

  •  Working on Bridge and other inspection projects for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), DRPA, DRJTBC, NJDOT and NJTA.
  • Proficient and well organized with aiding in processing field documentation, charting of data and report writing.
  • To be efficient in the use of the client's Bridge Management, web based software to update asset information and generate inspection reports.
  • Field duties including assisting the inspection team with equipment set up, data gathering and field documentation.
  • Able to carry small ladders and equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Be willing to work weekends on field assignments (on occasion)
  • Must work well in a team setting.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis, or related degree.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent graduate or May 2022 Graduate in an accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • The successful candidate will have 0-1 years of internship experience in civil engineering.
  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD and/or Microstation CADD software.
  • Pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT)
