ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Royal Media Group is looking for an intern who is eager to learn new skills, looking to challenge themselves and ready to apply the journalism practices they have learned. Our interns are exposed to Royal Media’s five industry sectors: air cargo, automotive finance, banking technology/fintech, energy, and satellite connectivity. Our interns have the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects and publish articles.  

As an intern you will research and write original and compelling stories, participate in an active and friendly remote team, play a role in staff meetings, and learn through various collaborative projects, with the potential for full-time employment post-graduation.  

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN 

We value our interns and put in the effort to ensure they are exposed to learning experience that fits their career goals. You will develop sound journalistic skills, from pitching original and stimulating content to developing “personal” journalism. Royal Media engages in “personal” journalism, in that we operate in extremely proximity to our markets and our communities. You will learn how to work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network within multiple industries.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

Participate in creative and meaningful editorial projects that not just inform but engage our readers and receive training and consistent support throughout the internship. While our interns may take on a wide variety of tasks, the focus will be to report and write stories.

DETAILS 

We are looking for an intern who can work 20 hours per week for an 8 week-period (June & July).  You will be provided with a bi-weekly stipend and the flexibility to work from home and pick your own schedule. If you are enrolled in summer school, we value flexibility around key times including, but not limited to, final exams and holidays.
