Clinical Research Coordinator

The Clinical Research Coordinator will coordinate multiple clinical research studies and trials for this team, with tasks that include preparing research protocols, recruiting, scheduling, and enrolling research participants out of the center's existing subject pool, and performing face-to-face testing of cognition, personality, and socioemotional functioning in dementia patients and healthy older adults. The incumbent will help design and maintain efficient data systems for collection, entry, tracking, and storage, data quality control, and will plan database elements. The incumbent will assist with training of other CRCs, and assist supervisor and/or PI with oversight of other research staff, visiting scholars, and volunteers. The incumbent will also assist in the preparation of semi-automated interpretive reports to describe test result patterns. Additional tasks include maintenance of study-related correspondence, such as preparing documentation for submission to the Institutional Review Board and progress reports to granting agencies, as well as managing purchasing for these studies. The incumbent will also assist senior research personnel on the team to perform statistical analyses, write grants and publications, and present results at meetings.

The Memory and Aging Center is a clinical research unit within the UCSF Department of Neurology that investigates the neurological, cognitive, behavioral, and neuroanatomic characteristics of various neurodegenerative diseases. The principal investigator’s team within the MAC specializes in studying the neuroanatomic circuits underlying altered personality and socioemotional behavior in both neurodegenerative disease patients and healthy aging adults, as well as building technology systems and workflows to accelerate neurology clinical research and to improve diagnosis and clinical care of dementia patients in real-world clinics.
