Speech-Language Pathologist

Qualifications:    
  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology; South Carolina Certification or Eligible for Certification
  •  Experience, preferred

Responsibilities:
The Speech/Language Pathologist will report to the assigned school’s Principal and the Director of Special Services. They will have the responsibility to accomplish assigned duties within district policies, state laws and regulations, and federal laws and regulations as related to the school’s purpose, classroom function, and contact with students and parents. 
 
Essential Functions:
  • Screen, evaluate, and diagnose speech/language disorders and determines student eligibility for enrollment in the speech/language program
  • Develop goals, objectives, methods, and materials to assist students in achieving their highest potential
  •  Ensure correct implementation of the students’ IEP goals and objectives
  •  Provides speech/language services in full compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain student records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
  •  Create an instructional environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
  • Establish and communicate to students and parents clear and appropriate rules and consequences for student behavior and enforces rules in a fair and consistent manner
  •   Consult with principals, clinicians, teachers, parents, and other agencies, as needed
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competency
  •  Attend school and district staff meetings and serve on committees, as required
  • Participate in staff development programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal and the Director of Special Service
