Location: Hybrid: Downtown Fort Collins office & work from home (flexible)
Salary: $15 – $17/hour

Our primary services include: custom website design, UX, hand-crafted custom WordPress themes and plugins, and web applications built using PHP/Laravel and Ruby on Rails.
We’re based in Fort Collins, Colorado, with our main office in the heart of downtown Fort Collins. Our varied clients across the country include notable small and large businesses.
In business since 2002, we are a small, collaborative, established company with 14 employees. We have numerous design and development projects in process, while actively maintaining ongoing relationships and support with our existing clients.

For this position, candidates must be able to work some of the time on-site from our downtown Fort Collins office.


Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Project Manager Intern to join our team. Skills are important (and you can read about those below), but so is chemistry.
Our ideal intern candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and have an interest in understanding technical details in order to better explain them to non-tech people. They should approach their work with a self-starter attitude and with excellence as their goal.

Project Management Intern Responsibilities

  • Draft communications for clients including meeting invitations, agendas and follow up emails, weekly project updates, and simple project estimates.
  • Assist the project management team with website design and development projects from client on-boarding through website launch to ongoing support
  • Update and evaluate budget tracking documents, project schedules, and developer resource management documents
  • Assist project managers in daily or weekly communication with our programmers to keep projects on track
  • Draft scope of work for programmers
  • Re-create and troubleshoot website issues reported by clients
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with team members and clients
  • Embrace and actively participate in testing and QA through all phases of website development
  • Assist in training clients on how to manage their new website, including entering content and using any custom features we’ve built
  • Sit in on initial prospect calls, and meetings between prospect, project manager, and CodeGeek owner. Help draft the initial project proposals
  • Continually improve and document our operations and procedures
  • Directly manage internal projects that impact our entire client base
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent written (and spoken) communication skills, delivered with a positive tone
  • Ability to switch focus between numerous projects each day and prioritize your work
  • Organized, excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work at least some of the time from our Old Town Fort Collins office

Preferences

  • Interest in technical project management as a potential career path 
  • Experience using the WordPress Admin Dashboard, such as performing content entry for WordPress websites including using the (Gutenberg) Block Editor, and editing website navigation menus
  • Experience using Google Workspace tools and features
  • Interest in learning more about running a small business and managing business finances
