Entry-Level Water Management Consultant/Engineer

Arcadis is seeking an Entry Level Water Engineer/Management Consultant for our Resilience Business Line to work on a variety of engagements with our Water Asset Management practice. This position includes a variety of management consulting assignments with a primary focus of data review, data processing, cleaning, and database analytics activities.

We are interested in candidates in the Ohio Area (Akron, OH). The chosen candidate can expect to work independently as well as on teams staffed with management consultants, IT professionals, engineers, and scientists from various backgrounds, locations, specialties, and experience levels. Some tasks, such as addressing requests for assistance, require a combination of technical and non-technical skills. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual that possesses the initiative and ability to take on new projects, learn new skills independently, troubleshoot issues, and can expect to tackle other challenges regularly.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Work as part of the national asset management team to plan and deliver asset management solutions for our clients.
  • Work on a variety of other water and wastewater infrastructure, including water and wastewater treatment and water/wastewater facilities evaluations, utilities assessments and capital improvement planning
  • Develop and review technical reports and presentations for projects
  • Data processing, data cleaning and data analytics skills
  • Database design, development and database management for Microsoft Access/SQL Server or Oracle
  • Ensure data integrity and credibility of all results that are presented regardless of the format in which the data is represented by correctly understanding business requirements behind the requests, as well as properly qualifying the data which is used for the data analysis as well as by taking appropriate reconciliation steps to tie results to financial reporting where appropriate
  • Increase productivity of the team by developing automated applications and coordinating information requirements.

  • Provide technical support to our team of highly skilled asset management professionals.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Engineering Management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of database functionality and information systems.
  • Relational databases (SQL Server, Access, or other)
  • Data analytics (Power BI, Tableau, or other)
  • Understanding of water and wastewater process equipment, distribution and collection system assets.
  • 1+ years of consulting experience with an environmental engineering or management consulting firm or equivalent experience with a medium/large municipal utility.
  • M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, M.B.A.
