Social Media Expert (LinkedIn Focused)

Importance of Position: Social Media Expert (LinkedIn Focused) will help POWER OF STORY be more visible and spread our message. The Social Media Expert will connect with child welfare professionals, foster alumni, adoptees, foster, birth and adoptive family, increase awareness of Power of Story, attendance at events, engagement in ongoing surveys and conversations around the Power of Stories.

Qualifications:
● Desire to support POWER OF STORY’s mission, to provide person-centered support for fostered youth and adoptees by advocating for their access to information, the training of parents and professionals, hands-on support for young people, and the completion of Lifebooks and Social Medical Histories.
● Experience using Linked in Personal and Business Pages
● Ability to use online tools to engage members, donors, and corporate partners
● Outgoing, enthusiastic and creative
● Attention to detail

Reports to: Employee Director

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a respectful relationship with clients, staff, and other volunteers
  • Once a month: invite 300 connections to Power of Story page.
  • Once a week: request connections to relevant connections.
  • Once week: invite 1,000 connections to upcoming events.
  • Help identify Heart Partners for further connection and coordination (foster alumni focused + centered)
  • Attendance at 1-hour initial training and 1 board meeting annually (both can be virtual)
  • Track + report volunteer hours
  • Maintain a respectful relationship with clients, staff, and other volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned

Volunteer Shifts: Flexible 1-2 hours per week

Commitment: At least 6 months, 1 year minimum preferred
