Entry Level Mechanical Engineer
Interested in joining a team of engineers supporting the reactor plants in the US Navy’s next generation submarines? The Submarine Servicing Systems Development unit in Schenectady NY is seeking a highly motivated, versatile, entry level engineer to join a team of engineers developing servicing systems for these plants. This challenging and rewarding position offers opportunities to develop and expand leadership skills through complex assignments and interpersonal skills through numerous interfaces including stakeholders and support groups across the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, our shipyards, and Naval Reactors Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Primary responsibilities will include teaming with other engineers and stakeholders in development of new equipment designs, equipment re-use evaluations, fabrication support, operational procedure development and safety evaluations where there is flexibility relative to the candidate's current interests and experience to date.
There is also a Project Management element to this the position. This includes project planning and monitoring of project health. To foster continued career growth, the successful candidate may also be involved in business related activities tailored to specific goals and needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS *
Associate:
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university required.
Intermediate:
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience
