Business Development Analyst - Early Career

Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.
Job Summary
Kairos Power is growing its Business Development team and is looking for an Analyst to support the management of commercial and partnership opportunities from concept to realized business impacts. The role will report to the Business Development Director, working closely with the Strategy and Technology teams, to help with Business Development’s execution of business-critical partnerships and commercial initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
General
- Support commercial growth strategy execution in concert with Kairos Power Strategy team
- Support senior management meetings
- Facilitate meeting organization, agenda management, documentation, and execution
- Assist with the organization and management of senior client relationships, acting as a key stakeholder for internal cross-functional Kairos Power teams
- Coordinate and respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries
- Create various ad-hoc presentations in support of the Commercial Leadership team
- Salesforce database management and integration with internal Kairos Power stakeholders and impacted systems
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Partnership Development
- Build and maintain a comprehensive deal database of current and historical commercial deals within the advanced nuclear, conventional nuclear, and large infrastructure spaces
- Perform diligence and maintain collective knowledge on prospective customers, markets, and industries
- Support the strategic development, execution, and management of strategic partnership programs
- Assist with partner relationship management, coordinating requirements between external counterparts and internal cross-functional Kairos Power teams
- Assist with status tracking and reporting to applicable varying layers of internal and external stakeholders and leadership
Commercial Development
- Track and analyze industry trends of competitors, U.S. utilities, and market developments
- Attend and document key takeaways from public utility/partner/customer board meetings and earnings calls as applicable
- Benchmark competitors, nuclear deal developments, and customer commitments
- Prepare and present industry updates to the wider business team on a regular basis
- Support senior management and peers with commercial opportunities as requested
- Develop and maintain business development related collateral in coordination with Business Development management and Kairos Power’s Communications team
- Support Request For Information and Request For Proposal responses
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a record of academic achievement required
- Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Attentive to detail with a demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality work products
- Demonstrated organizational skills with high aptitude under pressure and under deadline
- Proven ability to support the management of complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Outlook and PowerPoint
- Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to adapt job responsibilities as required to meet the demands and opportunities of a rapidly growing company
- Exemplary professional integrity
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the energy sector, with functional experience in sales, marketing, business development, project management, program management, strategy and/or related areas
- Relevant utility business experience
- Commercial experience with energy generation, e.g. project development, emerging technology commercialization
- Experience launching new products and services
- Experience developing new channels for distribution of technology products and services
