Summer 2022 International Development Intern

The Summer 2022 International Development Intern is responsible for working directly with the Managing Director and the Co-Founder to synthesize and analyze data in support of strategic decision making to expand our organization’s No Kid Hungry related work into India. This position will also work directly with multiple areas within the organization to pull out best practices, benchmarks and donor data that will be helpful to further our mission. Additionally, the person in this role will help the Managing Director to plan and organize agenda, materials and logistics for a retreat/convening which may be hosted in India later in the year.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

The Intern will primarily support three workstreams directly contributing to the early development of our international strategy:
  • India landscape research and analysis specific to child hunger, mid-day meal program status, and current government policy framework. The work will involve extensive research as well as creating Excel spreadsheets and presentation decks. In the course of producing these deliverables, the Intern will work with various departments as appropriate.
  • The Intern will work primarily with the Center for Best Practices team as well as some of our program partners outside of the US to identify relevant best practices that can be applied to our international work.
  • Partner with the Managing Director and Co-Founder in building out the agenda, creating supporting materials and providing logistical research support for our upcoming Fall/Winter Convening in India (Oct/Nov).
  • Complete other related tasks as assigned.
 
Qualifications: 

  • College Junior or Senior year student. Post-grad students are also encouraged to apply.
  • MS Office proficiency and excellent internet research skills are highly desired.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
