Human Services Program Manager

THE POSITION
The Human Services and Public Health department is seeking a Human Services Program Manager in the Child Protection Services area. The Child Protection Human Services Program Manager will provide oversight and leadership to the Child Protection Intake and the Rapid Response Team areas. The preferred candidate will be able to effectively manage and provide leadership to Child Protection Social Workers and Supervisors and successfully work in a team environment with other managers and possess the ability to facilitate and reach consensus agreements.

Location and hours:
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are primarily days, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.mOccasional weekend, evening, or holiday hours may be required. While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will: 
  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the overall operation of the Intake and RRT program areas and determine the need for services and program improvements; develop resources and plans to meet such needs; evaluate service/program outcomes.
  • Establish standards for quality of work, select staff, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Assist unit supervisors in resolving employee discipline and other supervisory issues.
  • Supervise the preparation of periodic reports and caseload program or service analyses.
  • Cooperate and collaborate with other departments and programs, public and private agencies, community groups, and other organizations.

Need to have:
One of the following:
  • Seven years or more of supervisory experience in an area related to the position.
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, healthcare administration, behavioral/social science, public health, and/or a related field and three years or more of supervisory experience in an area related to the position.
  • A master's degree or higher in one of the above fields and two years or more of supervisory experience in an area related to the position.
