About the Team

You will be joining one of Workday’s most exciting organizations, the Experience Design and Development Group (EDDG). As a cross-functional organization of 500 individuals, EDDG is responsible for elevating Workday’s User Experience, and delivering products that more than 45 million users love. The world of work is changing, and we are at the forefront.

About the Role
As a Product Designer Intern you are organized, care about the details, and have a strong intellectual curiosity to learn about how our users interact with our products. You understand that achieving phenomenal design is a team effort and requires collaboration with cross functional partners.
We are looking for an individual who can clearly communicate verbally and through written form to tell stories using personas and scenarios. The ability to develop positive relationships with UX peers, Product Managers, and Engineers, and most importantly, bringing your whole self to work and finding ways to have fun!

About You
Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interaction, Product Design, or related field
  • A portfolio of design work or class projects demonstrating your design process
 
Other Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of the user-centered design process
  • Experience creating user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate your design concepts
  • Familiarity with modern design and prototyping software and tools (like Figma)
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with UX peers, Product Managers, and Engineers
  • A genuine curiosity and desire to ask questions 
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate across stakeholders and a variety of cross-functional partners
  • Ability to explore several design solutions, prototype and iterate based on peer feedback, customer research, and experimentation
  • Proactively seek challenges and responsibilities 
  • Model a positive outlook even in challenging situations
  • Familiarity with modern design and prototyping software and tools (like Figma)
  • Understanding of design system patterns, design principles is a plus
