Program Executive Youth and Family Services Housing and Homeless Services

1. Job Summary: 
The Program Executive contributes to the overall goals of the YMCA by providing positive and consistent leadership to staff, volunteers, and participants in an assigned program area. The incumbent oversees and leads the development and operations of YMCA programs and services in outlying communities. The incumbent is accountable for overall customer impact, the fiscal operation, community relations, and all programming. 
2. Essential Functions: 
§ Oversee the development and quality of the program(s) in the assigned service area.
§ Develop and manage the delivery of quality programs to outlying community members and participants that will meet the needs of the community and the mission, purpose, and goals of the program and Association.
§ Develop a team of professionals to deliver high quality programs to members and participants.
§ Hire, train, onboard, evaluate, and supervise team members supporting the program(s).
§ Represent the YMCA in the community and with key community stakeholders, service groups, schools, committees, elected officials, government, non-profit, faith-based business and funding partners. 
§ Represent YMCA publicly at local, regional and national conferences, events, conduct training, public speaking, media engagement etc.
§ Lead government relations and advocacy efforts related to community or YMCA priorities and/or to drive systems change to advance equity. 
§ Create and implement action plans to address community disparities.
§ Collaborate with Social Responsibility team to advance equity in partnership with Association and community.
§ May research and lead fund development processes for funding program initiatives including grant writing, data collection, best practices, and evaluation processes.
§ May be responsible for the financial development, management and sustainability for department funding including managing multiple, complex grants and government contracts to include collaborations and partnerships, budgets, reporting and compliance requirements.  
§ Work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop, lead and ensure the Association’s strategies are directly connected, designed and executed to ensure cohesion across key Association initiatives. 
3. Relationships: 
This position reports to the Executive Director/VP Operations who reports to the Senior Vice President Operations/President/CEO. This incumbent will have both supervisory and budgetary responsibilities for the program and/or service area. This incumbent will interact with the community, senior leadership, branch leadership staff, branch staff, and/or service area staff, branch community board, government, elected officials, funders, donors, media. 
4. Qualifications: 
§ Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience working in youth development or community programs.
§ 5+ years of management experience in designing, implementing and evaluating community programs.
§ Demonstrated understanding and support of the YMCA’s mission.
§ Extensive professional experience in a broad range of YMCA program positions.
§ Proven management abilities in community and government relations; budget development and financial control; staff management and development; property and building management; strategic planning and policy making; and volunteer development.
§ Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
§ Demonstrated maturity, good judgement, and excellent human relations skills.
§ Ability to think conceptually, portray good analytical skills, and demonstrate assertiveness to manage the scope and diversity of the responsibilities.
§ Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities and achieve organizational objectives. 
5. Work Conditions: 
§ Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
§ Have the ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively during programming when hazardous/dangerous situations occur.
